2012 is the date given as the end of an age by a number of the ancient civilizations such a the Mayans, the Hopi, and others. This does not mean the end of the world. Far from it! It is the end of a cycle, the end of an age that started approximately 26,000 years ago. And with this ending is a new beginning into the next 26,000 year cycle which brings with it energy that will allow for a time of peace, truth and profound healing for mankind and the planet herself. The planet and the people who inhabit her will not change overnight of course, but the new energy will allow for the transition into higher dimensions of consciousness and higher levels of being. We will live much longer lives, we will no longer war on each other, and there will be enough abundance for each and every living being on the planet. This is what is possible in the new age. It will be up to us what we do with it.

There are entities (also sometimes referred to as “energies”) that can be seen and experienced on the planet. These energies are many times called ghosts. Though these entities are not in the same dimension or “time zone” as those who perceive them, they look like they are sharing our dimension and our world. When people see soldiers marching through battlefields in uniforms from the Civil War they think they are seeing ghosts…..what they are in fact seeing is a tear in the interdimensional fabric of time. This tear allows people in the current moment to see an event that took place in the past at that particular location. On other occasions, spiritual apparitions o energies actually seem to interact with our world. They light candles, make noise, move items across a tabletop, tip over chairs. These may seem like they are in some way engaging our world, but the behaviors are viewed very differently from the perspective of the entities who are making themselves known in our dimension. This can be annoying, frightening, inconvenient, disturbing or even exciting depending on the level of activity.

A “haunting” is very often simply a situation where residual energy from the past has been left in a specific location. It can appear to have purpose and even seem to interact directly with the person witnessing this energy. This is in large part due to the observation of the energy or apparition itself! In  fact, the very act of a person in this dimension viewing a ghostly energy or apparition actually changes what happens in front of our eyes. Our vision of such energies, apparitions and ghostly events is limited by our narrow interpretation and thereby changes the actual reality of it. On top of which, the reality of the event or  residual energy as it is perceived by the ghostly energy itself is no doubt completely different and foreign from our own experience.

So are there ghosts? Well, yes and no. Are there “haunting”? Again, yes and no. What ghosts and haunting’s actually are is our dimension overlapping with another in a way that it either creates a tear in interdimensional time or where the beings from both dimensions can “see” each other and may actually behave as if they are interacting.

Some psychic intuitives are clairaudient which means they “hear” sounds and messages that others do not. These people can hear spiritual information physically as well  as non-physically. They can hear words, sounds and voices of spiritual beings as well as other humans that are long distances away…..sometimes even thousands of miles away.  

When a psychic medium or intuitive individual is clairvoyant is means they see or perceive people, objects, events and situations which are outside the normal range of perception. Generally speaking, clairvoyant psychics connect to both the physical world and the spiritual world through the use of the mind’s eye or the third  eye which is located between the eye brows in the middle of the forehead. This is where their visions occur. Many times psychics who are clairvoyant are also clairaudient. Most people are clairvoyant to some degree and use this ability everyday, they simply don’t recognize it as such.

The third recognized form of psychic communication is clairsentient.  This involves psychic use of the physical senses of smell, taste, touch, emotion and physical sensation. An example of this is when a psychic actually experiences a physical headache when doing a reading for someone who gets regular migraines. Perceptions such as these are most often used by psychic mediums and intuitives in conjunction with clairaudience and clairvoyance.

Since most people employ one or all of these form of extra sensory perception on a daily basis, it makes sense that working to identify them as such and then practicing would increase and enhance their day to day use. I have found that the best way to accomplish this is to relax, open the mind and focus on what you wish to know. Then it is most important to BELIEVE the information that comes through to you. The first two are relatively easy and can be done with practice. These have been discussed in the prior blogs, relax your mind and body, open and focus on a question or event you wish to know about. Believing the answer is more difficult. Start with something you can easily confirm as being true. Relax, focus on a question like: What is my Mom doing right now? Check the time and then after you have received the information psychically, call your Mom to find out what she was doing at the time of your inquiry. Once you start recognizing how you “feel” when you receive correct information the more and more open to intuitive and “psychic” information you will become. Notice HOW you received the information. Did you sense it by feeling what your Mom was feeling at that moment? Did you have a vision of it in your minds eye? Did you hear her speaking either internally or externally? With practice, you will be able to tap into your psychic intuitive self and become more adept at hearing what the Universe has to say to you.

Upon waking each morning, make an effort to lie still for a few minutes with your eyes closed. Take notice of any sounds, smells, or sensations before you open your eyes and become fully awake for the day. If you make this a practice upon rising each day, after a period of time, you will begin to notice a new heightened state of awareness and an increase in your intuition.

Speaking your intention out loud each day to raise your awareness will also bring about a change in your level of awareness. When the body actually “hears” the intention given verbally, it responds by calling each cell into action to bring about the requested effect. Saying something like the following will allow all the cells of the body to help in the raising of personal awareness and so the heightening of psychic and intuitive awareness: “Today, I instruct my cellular structure to vibrate to my intent and direction. My intention is to raise my personal, psychic and intuitive awareness. And So It Is.”

Journaling thoughts that seem to come out of nowhere can be a powerful practice when working to raise psychic and intuitive awareness. After a time, when you read the notes you have taken, you may notice that patterns have emerged. Thoughts that previously seemed completely random and unconnected begin to form themes and/or recognizable ideas. These thoughts are actually a process for bringing through information from the universal consciousness into the individual consciousness so that it may benefit that individual.

These are three powerful steps that will help you raise your personal, psychic, and intuitive awareness. Once you have deepened your level of awareness you will be able to identify psychic information and use it on a more conscious level of existence. In my next blog we will discuss discovering what method of psychic communication is your strong suit.

But how to tap into this wiring and get it to work for us is the question. While some people are born as full functioning psychics and mediums, most are not. What I hope to do is to give informational steps on how to open up to your own innate psychic abilities in a series of blogs. This is the first of that series.

The first step is to start to sense your own intuitive connection to God/Spirit/Universal Consciousness. Some people also refer to this as our Higher Self, Angels, Guides or Spiritual Energy. It really doesn’t matter what you label it, it is all part of the same loving source and that is the important thing to understand. There are numerous methods to accomplish this and the one that I find most effective is meditation and/or prayer. You don’t have to spend hours in deep meditation or prayer, just a few minutes each day will start to open the connection to where you can really start to feel it. It is s relatively easy process:

Find a comfortable, quiet location. Relax as completely as you can. Close your eyes and really sink into a relaxed state. Now let your mind go….let it wander as thoughts move through, and then out, of your consciousness. Don’t force any thoughts or focus on anything, just let your thoughts come and go until your mind is relatively still. Allow yourself to just BE in this state. Don’t judge it, don’t rush it, don’t think about it. Just BE present. It won’t take long until you begin to feel (not think, but FEEL) a sense of deep connection to something that is loving, peaceful and intelligent. In that moment, you will be in a deeply connected state with the Universal Consciousness/God/Spirit also called your Higher Self. Allow for whatever information and/or emotion that wishes to come into your heart/mind consciousness to come in. Trust it. It is being given for your highest good and never to frighten or judge. Just absorb the feelings and the information. You will remember it when you return to you full waking state of consciousness. Stay in this state as long as you like. And when it is time to get on with your day, you gently shift your consciousness as you do when awaking from sleep.

Practice this once a day or more until you can quickly and easily move into your connection with Universal Consciousness/Spirit whether you are in a meditative state or a fully conscious one. It could take a few days or a few months depending on where your own personal journey takes you. Be patience and don’t worry about how long it takes. It will happen with practice.

So this is the first step to opening to your own psychic medium and intuitive abilities. The next step, raising your awareness, will be covered in my next blog.
