How to Become a Psychic Medium: The “How To”

The methods through which psychic mediums receive their information comes in an number of different forms. There are three main ways which I would like to describe.

Some psychic intuitives are clairaudient which means they “hear” sounds and messages that others do not. These people can hear spiritual information physically as well as non-physically. They can hear words, sounds and voices of spiritual beings as well as other humans that are long distances away…..sometimes even thousands of miles away.

When a psychic medium or intuitive individual is clairvoyant is means they see or perceive people, objects, events and situations which are outside the normal range of perception. Generally speaking, clairvoyant psychics connect to both the physical world and the spiritual world through the use of the mind’s eye or the third eye which is located between the eye brows in the middle of the forehead. This is where their visions occur. Many times psychics who are clairvoyant are also clairaudient. Most people are clairvoyant to some degree and use this ability everyday, they simply don’t recognize it as such.

The third recognized form of psychic communication is clairsentient. This involves psychic use of the physical senses of smell, taste, touch, emotion and physical sensation. An example of this is when a psychic actually experiences a physical headache when doing a reading for someone who gets regular migraines. Perceptions such as these are most often used by psychic mediums and intuitives in conjunction with clairaudience and clairvoyance.

Since most people employ one or all of these form of extra sensory perception on a daily basis, it makes sense that working to identify them as such and then practicing would increase and enhance their day to day use. I have found that the best way to accomplish this is to relax, open the mind and focus on what you wish to know. Then it is most important to BELIEVE the information that comes through to you. The first two are relatively easy and can be done with practice. These have been discussed in the prior blogs, relax your mind and body, open and focus on a question or event you wish to know about. Believing the answer is more difficult. Start with something you can easily confirm as being true. Relax, focus on a question like: What is my Mom doing right now? Check the time and then after you have received the information psychically, call your Mom to find out what she was doing at the time of your inquiry. Once you start recognizing how you “feel” when you receive correct information the more and more open to intuitive and “psychic” information you will become. Notice HOW you received the information. Did you sense it by feeling what your Mom was feeling at that moment? Did you have a vision of it in your minds eye? Did you hear her speaking either internally or externally? With practice, you will be able to tap into your psychic intuitive self and become more adept at hearing what the Universe has to say to you.

How to Become a Psychic Medium Blog: Raising Your Awareness

Raising ones awareness is part intention, part practice, and part belief.

Upon waking each morning, make an effort to lie still for a few minutes with your eyes closed. Take notice of any sounds, smells, or sensations before you open your eyes and become fully awake for the day. If you make this a practice upon rising each day, after a period of time, you will begin to notice a new heightened state of awareness and an increase in your intuition.

Speaking your intention out loud each day to raise your awareness will also bring about a change in your level of awareness. When the body actually “hears” the intention given verbally, it responds by calling each cell into action to bring about the requested effect. Saying something like the following will allow all the cells of the body to help in the raising of personal awareness and so the heightening of psychic and intuitive awareness: “Today, I instruct my cellular structure to vibrate to my intent and direction. My intention is to raise my personal, psychic and intuitive awareness. And So It Is.”

Journaling thoughts that seem to come out of nowhere can be a powerful practice when working to raise psychic and intuitive awareness. After a time, when you read the notes you have taken, you may notice that patterns have emerged. Thoughts that previously seemed completely random and unconnected begin to form themes and/or recognizable ideas. These thoughts are actually a process for bringing through information from the universal consciousness into the individual consciousness so that it may benefit that individual.

These are three powerful steps that will help you raise your personal, psychic, and intuitive awareness. Once you have deepened your level of awareness you will be able to identify psychic information and use it on a more conscious level of existence. How to Become a Psychic Medium Blog Series

This is a very common question…How can I become a psychic medium? Truth is, we are all psychic mediums and intuitive to some extent. It is how humans are wired. People born after 1975 in particular are intuitively gifted and wired to be able to communicate with other dimensions, but people at any age or stage in life have the capacity to open up their psychic abilities.

But how to tap into this wiring and get it to work for us is the question. While some people are born as full functioning psychics and mediums, most are not. What I hope to do is to give informational steps on how to open up to your own innate psychic abilities in a series of blogs. This is the first of that series.

The first step is to start to sense your own intuitive connection to God/Spirit/Universal Consciousness. Some people also refer to this as our Higher Self, Angels, Guides or Spiritual Energy. It really doesn’t matter what you label it, it is all part of the same loving source and that is the important thing to understand. There are numerous methods to accomplish this and the one that I find most effective is meditation and/or prayer. You don’t have to spend hours in deep meditation or prayer, just a few minutes each day will start to open the connection to where you can really start to feel it. It is s relatively easy process:

Find a comfortable, quiet location. Relax as completely as you can. Close your eyes and really sink into a relaxed state. Now let your mind go….let it wander as thoughts move through, and then out, of your consciousness. Don’t force any thoughts or focus on anything, just let your thoughts come and go until your mind is relatively still. Allow yourself to just BE in this state. Don’t judge it, don’t rush it, don’t think about it. Just BE present. It won’t take long until you begin to feel (not think, but FEEL) a sense of deep connection to something that is loving, peaceful and intelligent. In that moment, you will be in a deeply connected state with the Universal Consciousness/God/Spirit also called your Higher Self. Allow for whatever information and/or emotion that wishes to come into your heart/mind consciousness to come in. Trust it. It is being given for your highest good and never to frighten or judge. Just absorb the feelings and the information. You will remember it when you return to you full waking state of consciousness. Stay in this state as long as you like. And when it is time to get on with your day, you gently shift your consciousness as you do when awaking from sleep.

Practice this once a day or more until you can quickly and easily move into your connection with Universal Consciousness/Spirit whether you are in a meditative state or a fully conscious one. It could take a few days or a few months depending on where your own personal journey takes you. Be patience and don’t worry about how long it takes. It will happen with practice.

Ho’oponopono Hawaiian Healing Tradition

The Difference between Psychics and Mediums

The difference between psychics and mediums is that a psychic brings through information from the Universal Consciousness (God or Spirit) about items related to the person requesting the reading. Mediums connect with people who have passed to the other side and bring through information directly from those souls. This information can be about the person who is now in spirit form or about the person the medium is doing the reading for. Either way, the psychic and the medium are still connecting to information held within the Universal Consciousness and many times the information can be very similar.

The majority of people who have psychic gifts also have the gift of mediumship. It is a subtle difference, but one worth knowing. What to Expect from a Medium

Mediums are different from psychics in that they have the ability to connect with departed souls/spirits who exist in other dimensions (sometimes called Heaven). They can feel, see, hear and/or sense the emotions, voices or mental images of beings who reside in these other dimensions. A medium has the ability to become a portal of sorts and connect to the higher frequency where departed souls/spirits vibrate. Many times psychics are also mediums, but this is not always the case as mediums possess a finely honed set of skills that a psychic may not possess. Most mediums work in a fully conscious state, which is how I work. When I connect to a departed soul/spirit, I become clairsentience and clairvoyant which means I receive powerful emotions from the departed soul/spirit as well as receiving visions in my mind’s eye of colors, people, symbols, places, and situations. When mediums connect with those who have passed over, they cannot force the departed souls/spirits to communicate, answer questions, or reveal specific information. They can only ask that spiritual energy to come forward and communicate in whatever fashion they wish. What can almost always be felt however is the love that radiates from these departed souls/spirits. This love is a powerful form of communication and can be felt by the medium as well as the person requesting the connection. Most departed souls/spirits will reveal information that identifies them as the correct individual to the person requesting to connect with them, but they are not so good about answering specific questions or giving promised coded information known only by the human asking the questions and the departed soul. It would be much easier on mediums if this kind of information was passed along regularly, but it is not. The reason may be that in the physical transition process from earth to heaven the consciousness also transitions and some physical memories are lost or altered. There is no proof for this of course, but only a hypothesis. As a medium I am honored and humbled to connect with the energy of souls/spirits who have departed the earthly plane. One of my greatest joys is to bring through information from departed loved ones and experience the loving energy each connection brings with it.

Where does Psychic Information Come From?

Many people ask me, “Jewels, where does the information you give to others in a psychic reading come from?” Thats a very good question and not an easy one to answer. Some Psychic Mediums will say that it comes through their own intuitive senses. Some will say it comes from the Universal Consciousness or the Mind of God. Mediums may tell you that the information comes from those who have passed to the other side and reside in Heaven. Those who use tarot cards to bring through information may say that it is divination of the cards themselves that reveal the needed information. From the perspective of this psychic medium, all these answers are correct, but none is complete. No matter what tool or method a medium, psychic, intuitive or tarot card reader may employee, the information all comes from the same basic source, the heart and mind of Spirit. Whether you call it the Universal Consciousness, God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, Great Spirit, Christed Energy or your own Higher Self, it all has the same source…..the heart and mind of Spirit.

There seems to be a great deal of mystery around people who are psychic mediums. Truth be told, they are just regular people who happen to be able to tune in to information that is flowing from the Universe, decipher it and relay it to others so they can use it to
their benefit. We are all wired to receive this kind of information, but we have been told for so long that it is wrong, sinful or useless to use such information that most of us have turned that switch off long ago. Psychic Side Effects

Many times psychic readers and mediums have more than one ability. Many can not only tap into the universal consciousness to glean what a clients most likely future appears to be, but they can bring in information about past lives, spirit guides, auric colors, pets and help to create healing within the body. Many times a client will tell me that after their psychic or tarot reading that they were suddenly able to hear their own inner guidance or intuition more clearly, that physical aches and pains had resolved, and that they simply had an overall sense of peace that had been lacking prior to the session. These are some of the wonderful side effects of having a psychic reading. These side effects do not always occur of course, but they do happen. For the first few days after a reading, pay attention to your thoughts, your overall mood, and how your body feels. You may find that no matter what the content of the reading revealed, you have grown, expanded and healed in ways beyond the knowledge your received.
